In Istanbul, we\u2019ve spent some days at a friend&#8217;s place who generously showed us around and told us some insider places we should definitely visit while in the city!<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Not an insider tip, but a very famous place to visit is the Hagia Sophia. Formerly an Orthodox basilica it later was transformed into a mosque and since 1935 it is a museum open to the public.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Do\u011fu Avrupa&#8217;ya yapt\u0131\u011f\u0131m yolculuk s\u0131ras\u0131nda T\u00fcrkiye&#8217;de birka\u00e7 g\u00fcn ge\u00e7irdik. \u0130stanbul&#8217;da, bize c\u00f6mert\u00e7e etraf\u0131 gezdiren ve \u015fehirde kesinlikle ziyaret etmemiz gereken baz\u0131 yerleri anlatan bir arkada\u015f\u0131n\u0131z\u0131n yerinde birka\u00e7 g\u00fcn ge\u00e7irdik!<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u0130\u00e7eriden bir ipucu de\u011fil, ama ziyaret etmek i\u00e7in \u00e7ok \u00fcnl\u00fc bir yer Ayasofya. Eskiden bir Ortodoks bazilikas\u0131 daha sonra camiye d\u00f6n\u00fc\u015ft\u00fcr\u00fclm\u00fc\u015f ve 1935&#8217;ten beri halka a\u00e7\u0131k bir m\u00fczedir.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<h3><b>Don\u2019t like crowded places? Come early!<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><b>(Kalabal\u0131k yerleri sevmiyor musunuz? Erken gelin!)<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Hagia Sophia is one of the most famous monuments in Istanbul and you can expect it being very busy whether it is cold or hot outside. If you don\u2019t like big crowds, avoid this monument, alternatively come really early or really late in the day!<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Between 9 AM and 12 PM normal tourists and cruise ship passengers walk through this huge monument. It can happen that you have to wait several hours until you get in!<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Hagia Sophia is a very old monument with many sights to enjoy. At the ground level, most things have an Islamic background. In the apse of the mihrab is a marble structure indicating the direction of Mecca. At the upper level, there are many Christian sights like a great mosaic of the virgin and child and some damaged mosaics.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ayasofya, \u0130stanbul&#8217;un en \u00fcnl\u00fc an\u0131tlar\u0131ndan biridir ve d\u0131\u015far\u0131s\u0131 so\u011fuk veya s\u0131cak olsun \u00e7ok kalabal\u0131k olmas\u0131n\u0131 bekleyebilirsiniz. B\u00fcy\u00fck kalabal\u0131klar\u0131 sevmiyorsan\u0131z, bu an\u0131ttan ka\u00e7\u0131n\u0131n, alternatif olarak g\u00fcn\u00fcn erken veya ger\u00e7ekten ge\u00e7 saatinde gelin!<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">09:00 &#8211; 12:00 aras\u0131nda normal turistler ve yolcu gemisi yolcular\u0131 bu devasa an\u0131t\u0131n i\u00e7inden ge\u00e7iyor. \u0130\u00e7eri girene kadar birka\u00e7 saat beklemeniz gerekebilir!<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ayasofya, bir\u00e7ok manzaraya sahip \u00e7ok eski bir an\u0131tt\u0131r. Zemin seviyesinde, \u00e7o\u011fu \u015feyin \u0130slami bir ge\u00e7mi\u015fi vard\u0131r. The low sun makes the inside look very mystical.
