Nasreddin Hoca s\u00f6ylenilene g\u00f6re 1208\u2019de Sivrihisar\u2019a yak\u0131n Horto k\u00f6y\u00fcnde do\u011fmu\u015ftur. Kendisi T\u00fcrkiye\u2019nin – hatta belki de \u0130slam D\u00fcnyas\u0131\u2019n\u0131n- en bilinen \u201c\u015fakac\u0131s\u0131d\u0131r\u201d. 1237 y\u0131l\u0131nda Ak\u015fehir\u2019e ta\u015f\u0131nan Nasreddin Hoca Hicri Talvim\u2019e g\u00f6re 683 y\u0131l\u0131nda burada vefat etmi\u015ftir. \u0130smine atfedilen neredeyse 350 anektod bulunmaktad\u0131r ki bunlar da en bilinenler olarak g\u00f6r\u00fclmektedir. Hoca kelimesi \u00f6\u011fretmen anlam\u0131na gelmektedir. Nasreddin isminin bir\u00e7ok farkl\u0131 yaz\u0131m \u015fekli mevcuttur. Nasreddin, Nasrettin, Nasrudin, Nasr-id-deen, Nasr Eddin, Nasr-eddin, Nasirud-din, Nasr-ud-Din, Nasr-Eddin, ve Nasr-Ed-Dine bunlardan baz\u0131lar\u0131. \u0130ngilizce\u2019deki hodja kelimesinin de bir\u00e7ok farkl\u0131 yaz\u0131m\u0131 bulunmaktad\u0131r. Hodja, Hodscha, Hoca, Chotza, Cogia, Khodja, ve Khoja da bunlara \u00f6rnek verilebilir. Haydi \u015fimdi beraber Nasreddin Hoca\u2019n\u0131n en bilinen be\u015f f\u0131kras\u0131n\u0131n \u0130ngilizcesine bir g\u00f6z atal\u0131m.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

    One day Nasrettin Hodja wanted to go to the market.\u00a0<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

    All of the children in the village ran to him and shouted: \u201cPlease, buy us whistles from the market!\u201d. The Hodja told them, \u201cDon\u2019t shout so much, I can\u2019t think. All right, I promise. I\u2019m going to buy them.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

    One of the children, Ali, said, \u201cPlease take this money, Hodja. Don\u2019t forget to buy me a whistle.\u201d The Hodja took the money and put it into his pocket. Then he went to the market. In the late afternoon, the children waited in the street for the Hodja. When they saw him they ran to him\u00a0<\/span>and shouted together, \u201cHodja! Where are our whistles? Have you got our whistles?\u201d The Hodja took one whistle from his pocket. He gave it to Ali and he\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

    said to the others, \u201cWho paid for the whistle, can blow the whistle!\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

    T\u00fcrk\u00e7e<\/strong><\/h3>\n

    Nasreddin Hoca bir g\u00fcn pazara gitmek istemi\u015f. K\u00f6ydeki t\u00fcm \u00e7ocuklar ona do\u011fru ko\u015fmu\u015f ve \u015f\u00f6yle ba\u011f\u0131rm\u0131\u015f: \u201cL\u00fctfen, pazardan bize d\u00fcd\u00fck al!\u201d.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

    Hocan\u0131n cevab\u0131 ise \u015fu olmu\u015f: \u201cFazla ba\u011f\u0131rmay\u0131n, d\u00fc\u015f\u00fcnemiyorum. Tamam, s\u00f6z veriyorum. D\u00fcd\u00fckleri alaca\u011f\u0131m.\u201d \u00c7ocuklardan biri, Ali, Hoca\u2019ya \u015funlar\u0131 s\u00f6ylemi\u015f: \u2013 L\u00fctfen bu paray\u0131 al Hoca. Nasreddin Hoca ald\u0131\u011f\u0131 tek d\u00fcd\u00fc\u011f\u00fc \u00e7antas\u0131ndan \u00e7\u0131karm\u0131\u015f, Ali\u2019ye vermi\u015f ve di\u011fer \u00e7ocuklara \u015f\u00f6yle s\u00f6ylemi\u015f: \u2013 Paray\u0131 veren d\u00fcd\u00fc\u011f\u00fc \u00e7alar.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

      Eat, My Coat, Eat \/ Ye K\u00fcrk\u00fcm Ye!\u00a0<\/b><\/h2>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      The Hodja was invited to a banquet. He wore his everyday clothes because he did not want to be pretentious, and only to discover that everyone ignored him, including the host. So he went back home and put on his fanciest coat, and then returned to the banquet. Now he was greeted cordially by everyone and invited to sit down and eat and drink.\u00a0<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

      When the soup was served to him he dunked the sleeve of his coat into the bowl and said, “Eat, my coat, eat!”<\/em><\/p>\n

      The startled host asked the Hodja to explain his strange behavior.<\/p>\n

      “When I arrived here wearing my other clothes,” explained the Hodja, “no one offered me anything to eat or drink. But when I returned wearing this fine coat, I was immediately offered the best of everything, so I can only assume that it was the coat and not myself who was invited to your banquet.”\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

      evvel ho\u015f geldin bile demeyenler, \u00f6n\u00fcnde yerlere kadar e\u011filmi\u015fler, oturup yiyip i\u00e7mesi i\u00e7in\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

      \u201cYe k\u00fcrk\u00fcm ye, ye k\u00fcrk\u00fcm ye!\u201d demeye ba\u015flam\u0131\u015f.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

      Bu hareket ile irkilen davet sahibi hocaya garip davran\u0131\u015f\u0131n\u0131n nedenini sormu\u015f.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

      fakat bu k\u0131yafetle geri geldi\u011fimde her \u015feyin en iyisi sunuldu. K\u00fcrks\u00fcz adamdan say\u0131lmad\u0131k…\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

        The Cauldron That Died \/ Kazan \u00d6ld\u00fc\u00a0<\/b><\/h2>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

        Nasreddin Hodja, having a need for a large cooking container, borrowed his neighbor’s copper cauldron, then returned it in a timely manner.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

        “What is this?” asked his neighbor upon examining the returned cauldron. “There is a small pot inside my cauldron.”\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

        “Oh,” responded the Hodja. “While it was in my care your cauldron gave birth to a little one. Because you are the owner of the mother cauldron, it is only right that you should keep its baby. And in any event, it would not be right to separate the child from its mother at such a young age.”\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

        The neighbor, thinking that the Hodja had gone quite mad, did not argue. Whatever had caused the crazy man to come up with this explanation, the neighbor had a nice little pot, and it had cost him nothing.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

        Sometime later the Hodja asked to borrow the cauldron again.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

        “Why not?” thought the neighbor to himself. “Perhaps there will be another little pot inside when he returns it.”\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

        But this time the Hodja did not return the cauldron. After many days had passed, the neighbor went to the Hodja and asked for the return of the borrowed cauldron.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

        “My dear friend,” replied the Hodja. “I have bad news. Your cauldron has died, and is now in her grave.”\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

        “What are you saying?” shouted the neighbor. A cauldron does not live, and it cannot die. Return it to me at once!”\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

        “One moment!” answered the Hodja. “This is the same cauldron that but a short time ago gave birth to a child, a child that is still in your possession. If a cauldron can give birth to a child, then it also can die.”\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

        And the neighbor never again saw his cauldron.<\/em><\/p>\n

        Nasreddin Hoca bir g\u00fcn b\u00fcy\u00fck bir kazana ihtiya\u00e7 duymu\u015f, kom\u015fusundan \u00f6d\u00fcn\u00e7 alm\u0131\u015f ve k\u0131sa zamanda kazan\u0131 kendisine iade etmi\u015f.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

        Kom\u015fusu kazan\u0131n i\u00e7inde ufak bir kap g\u00f6r\u00fcnce hocaya bu nedir diye sormu\u015f. \u201cKazan\u0131n i\u00e7inde ufak bir kap var.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

        Hoca, kazan\u0131n kendisinde bulundu\u011fu s\u00fcrede do\u011furdu\u011funu ve kom\u015fusunun anne kazan\u0131n as\u0131l sahibi olmas\u0131 sebebiyle bebe\u011fini de almas\u0131 gerekti\u011fini s\u00f6ylemi\u015f ve eklemi\u015f:\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

        \u201cZaten hi\u00e7bir durumda anne ve \u00e7ocu\u011fu bu kadar erken ya\u015fta birbirinden ay\u0131rmak do\u011fru olmayacakt\u0131r.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

        \u00a0<\/span>Kom\u015fusu hocan\u0131n biraz delirdi\u011fini d\u00fc\u015f\u00fcnse de onunla tart\u0131\u015fmam\u0131\u015f. Bu deli adama bu a\u00e7\u0131klamay\u0131 yapt\u0131ran neden ne olursa olsun, kendisinin art\u0131k ufak bir kab\u0131 vard\u0131 ve bunun i\u00e7in bir \u00fccret \u00f6dememi\u015fti.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

        Bir s\u00fcre sonra hoca kazan\u0131 tekrar \u00f6d\u00fcn\u00e7 almak istemi\u015f.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

        \u201cNeden olmas\u0131n?\u201d diye d\u00fc\u015f\u00fcnm\u00fc\u015f kom\u015fusu da. \u201cBelki de geri verdi\u011finde i\u00e7inde yine ba\u015fka bir k\u00fc\u00e7\u00fck kap olacak.\u201d\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

        Ama bu kez hoca kazan\u0131 geri vermemi\u015f. Epey g\u00fcn sonra, kom\u015fu hocaya gitmi\u015f ve kazan\u0131n\u0131 geri vermesini istemi\u015f.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

        \u00a0<\/span>\u201cSevgili dostum,\u201d demi\u015f hoca \u201cSana k\u00f6t\u00fc haberlerim var. Senin kazan \u00f6ld\u00fc ve \u015fimdi mezarda.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

        \u201cNe diyorsun be!\u201d diye ba\u011f\u0131rm\u0131\u015f kom\u015fu. Kazan ya\u015famaz ve \u00f6lmez, kazan\u0131m\u0131 geri ver.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

        \u201cBir dakika!\u201d diye yan\u0131tlam\u0131\u015f hoca. \u201cBu k\u0131sa s\u00fcre \u00f6nce do\u011furan o ayn\u0131 kazan, ki o do\u011fan \u00e7ocuk senin himayende \u015fu anda. E\u011fer bir kazan do\u011furabiliyorsa elbette ki \u00f6lebilir.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

        Ve kom\u015fu kazan\u0131n\u0131 bir daha hi\u00e7 g\u00f6rememi\u015f.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
