The second movie that we want to mention is Joker which is an American psychological thriller. Todd Philips (director) co-wrote the story of Joker.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n The star of the movie, Joaquin Phoenix, acts the previous years of the main evil character of Batman series, Joker in the movie. The audience see the psychological change of the\u00a0character. This role gave Phoenix the title of “the best actor” in the 2019 Academy Award. However, some writers criticized the movie because it promoted crime. Still, there are so many fans, too.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n The year of the movie is 1981. The main character, Arthur Fleck is a comedian who could not catch the chance to be famous or successful. He just feels the failure all the time.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n He lives with his mother, and he also works as a party clown. In that time, Gotham City that he had lived in, is a crime city and it is full of unemployment.<\/span><\/p>\n Another issue about Arthur is his medical condition. Because of this condition, he laughs suddenly inappropriate times or places. He also suffers from society that reacts to his condition.<\/span><\/p>\n A group of bully attacks him in an alley and after that, his co-worker Randall gives him a gun for protecting himself.<\/span><\/p>\n Meanwhile, Arthur meets his neighbor Sophie Dumond who is a single mother. He really likes her and invites her to his new stand-up show.<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Arthur is invited to a hospital to entertain children there. While he was doing his job, his gun is dropped from his pocket. When his friend Randall tells management, that Arthur brought a gun with himself, management fires Arthur.<\/span><\/p>\n In the subway, Arthur feels very bad without a job and he sits on his seat with his clown make-up. Three drunk Wayne Enterprises businessman beats him in the subway. He shot them with his gun; two shots are self-defense and one is executed. The owner of the company that three dead businessmen worked for; Thomas Wayne, is also a billionaire and mayoral candidate. After the murders, Wayne calls “clowns” the people who are jealous of the successful ones.<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Sophie, the neighbor and new girlfriend of Arthur, attends his comedy show but it does not go well. Someone who records the show sends the poor part of Arthur to the comedian and talk-man; Murray Franklin whose also Arthur admires. Franklin shows Arthur’s poor comedy clips and mocks him and Arthur wins a popularity.<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Meanwhile, Arthur finds a letter which is written by Penny, his mother to Thomas Wayne and the letter tells that Arthur is the illegitimate son of Wayne. Arthur goes to Wayne Manner to learn the truth however; he just met the little son of Thomas; Bruce Wayne. Alfred, the family butler of Wayne’s, do not accept Arthur and asks him to leave.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Then somehow Arthur learns that Penny is not his real mother and also Thomas is not his real father. This truth shocks him, and he gives up taking his medicine. He kills Penny.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Then, Arthur enters Sophie’s flat to see her and to tell her everything, but Sophie is scared and tells him to leave. The audience understands that the other Sophie scenes were just delusions of Arthur.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n After that, Arthur goes for preparing to the talk-show of Murray because he is invited. When he backs home, his co-workers come to him and one of them is Randall. Arthur kills Randall but he lets the other one go because the other co-worker always treats him well.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n When the show time comes, Arthur asks Murray to introduce him as Joker which is a nickname that Murray used for him to mock previously.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n He starts to tell awkward and morbid jokes and then he confesses train murder. Arthur kills Murray on the show on the air. Police arrested him.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n On the other hand, Wayne’s family is in an Alley and we see that Mr. and Mrs. Wayne are killed in front of their son, Bruce. The ambulance which takes them crushes into the police car of Arthur and frees him.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n As the last scene, we see Joker in the Arkham which is a mental illness hospital, talking to his psychiatrist and tells her that she would not understand him.
