Norma Jeane Mortenson, known as Marilyn Monroe, was born in Los Angeles on 1 June 1926. She was an American actress and model. She got famous with her roles as the stupid blondie in Hollywood comedy movies. She was one of the most famous stars and symbols of the 20th century.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Even though she couldn\u2019t get the change to play the head role at the movies for a long time, she got famous in her sudden death in 1962 and her movies got a revenue of 200 billion dollars. She\u2019s still a famous figure, even today.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n She was born in Los Angeles Community Hospital. She spent most of her childhood at protective family houses and orphanages. She lived with Bolender family who were too conservative and religious till she was 7. Then her mother Gladys bought a house and she started to live with her. But when her mother\u2019s psychology got worse again, she got under the custody of her mother\u2019s best friend, Grace Mckee.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n When Grace got married to Ervin Silliman Goddard in 1935, she was sent back to Los Angeles orphanage. Grace wanted to get her back 2 years later but as her husband harassed Monroe who was 9 then was sent to live with her aunt Olive Brugnings.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n There she was feeling uncomfortable about Olive\u2019s sons. This is why she had to live with her other aunt, Ana Lower. After a while, Ana Lower got sick and Marilyn went back to Goddard house.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n She was working at a photographers in 1944 during the war. There she met a photographer working for First Motion Picture and then started a good career of being a model. This career helped her making movie contracts with Twentieth Century-Fox and Columbia Pictures.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n She played in some short time TV series first. Then she made a new contract. In the following years, she played in movies like; As Young As You Feel and Monkey Business. There claimed some rumors about her claiming that some naked photos of her were taken before her career. Instead of harming her career, those rumors ended up with a rise of interest in her movies.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n In 1052, she played a woman having psychological problems in the movie titled \u2018\u2019Don\u2019t Bother To Knock.\u2019\u2019 It was a B class movie but she convinced the criticizers that she could handle better roles.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n In 1953, she had already played in 3 movies and she was one of the most famous starts of Hollywood. She played the idiot blondie in movies like Men Prefer Blondies and How to Marry a Millionaire This style effected her career a lot but having played the same kind of roles all her career and not being paid well just disappointed her.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n In 1954, she founded a production company and she named the company as the Marilyn Monroe Productions. She dedicated herself to develop this company and took acting classes in Actors Studio. She showed a good performance in Bus Stop .Then she played the head role in The Prince and The Showgirl. Thanks to that, she was awarded with the Golden Globe for the best actress in 1959.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n The child protection law of California didn\u2019t let Goddards take her away from the state. This is why Monroe had to be sent back to the orphanage. As a solution, she got married to 21 years of son of their neighbors at the age of 16. James Doughtery was working in a company as a worker. Monroe quitted high school then and became a housewife. She found that marriage quite boring.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n She wanted to make a business contract with the 20th Century-Fox but the condition was that she couldn\u2019t be married. So she got divorced after a 4 years of marriage.<\/span><\/p>\n After being alone for a while, it was said that she was seeing Joe DiMaggio. In 1954, they got married suddenly. It was the second marriage for both of them. Joe DiMaggio was an old-fashioned man who used to think that the women shall not work and stay at home. This caused some discussions between them. The jealousy was also playing a big role on the demolition of their marriage. Joe was a dangler man. After the rumors, they got divorced.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Finally, Monroe met\u00a0 American play-writer Arthur Miller during the shortage of As Young As You Feel. Arthur was married then and they were seeing each other secretly. When he got divorced with his first wife Mary Slatter, they got married in the June of 1956.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n This marriage was a big disappointment for Arthur. He was thinking that they weren\u2019t proper for each other. After a marriage of 5 years, they got divorced.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Although she got married 3 times, she had never had children. She just had a miscarriage during her marriage with Arthur Miller.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n While she was playing the head role for the Misfits written by Arthur Miller, Monroe was having psychological and physical problems. So she was always late to the shortage and then she was hospitalized .She got divorced with Arthur after that movie. Then she had a deep depression and was treated in a clinic. She decided to act in a comedy movie in 1962 but she was keeping being late to the stage. Because of her irresponsibility, her contract was cancelled. But her partner at the movie didn\u2019t want to work with another actress but her so her contact was renewed.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n She died in Los Angeles, just when she was 36, because of taking over dose sedatives before even being able to start the reshooting of the movie.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n In the autopsy done after her death, her death was considered to be a suicide as she took over dose barbiturate.
