Adana has a big civilisation and a great history which goes to B.C 3000. Through the history, in the lands of Adana there were big civilisations such as Rome, Byzantine, Asyria, Persian, Alexander the Great, Mameluke, Seljuq Empire.<\/p>\n
Adana was added to the Ottoman Empire during the Egypt voyage of Sultan Selim the Stern.<\/p>\n
However, by considering the rulings of Adana Agreement, French had to leave the city in the 5th of January, 1922. It became a city in 1867. In 1871, Adana city Hall was established. Independent Year of Adana was accepted as 1922. This date is important for the city history because at that time, Turkish flag was hung to the big clock tower of the city.<\/p>\n
Adana is famous for its hot summers so the best time to see the city is spring. March, April or May are the most suitable months to go to Adana.

Stone Bridge<\/strong><\/p>\n The stone Bridge is one of the most historical places in Adana. It is known that it was built in the 4th century and it is very durable that it has standed till today. Another important thing about the stone bridge of Adana is that it is the first bridge used in the world. The bridge is 319 m. Length and 13 m. height. It is located in the district of Y\u00fcre\u011fir of Adana.<\/p>\n Historical Big Clock Tower<\/strong><\/p>\n This is another durable structure because it standed during the big earthquake in 1998. The most of the structures wracked in this earthquake. This constructure is located in the district of Seyhan of Adana. Its construction had lasted for 1 year; started in 1881 and finished in 1882. It is 32 m. Height. Sabanci Central Mosque<\/strong><\/p>\n It opened in 1998 and it was built just near the stone Bridge of Adana. It is a very georgous constructure. It\u2019s total area is 58.900 m2 and its closed area is 12.900. Sabanci Central Mosque is one of the biggest mosques in Middle East and Balkans.<\/p>\n Central Park<\/strong><\/p>\n Its total area is 33 hectared and the park is located in the two sides of the Seyhan River. Central Park is the biggest open park of Turkey and it opened in 2004. In the North of the park there is Galleria shopping mall and in the south of it there is Sabanci Central Mosque.<\/p>\n The Grand Mosque<\/strong><\/p>\n The Grand Mosque is located in the Seyhan district of Adana. It is good to know there are many mosques which are called as grand mosque in Turkey. Yet one of the most famous ones is in Bursa. Atat\u00fcrk Park<\/strong><\/p>\n The park opened in the early years of Turkish Republic and its area is 4.7 hectare. It is located right in the center of the city, between the Ataturk Street and Ziyapasa Street. With its natural beauty and clean air, besides of the local people of Adana, from every city of Turkey people go to see this park. Varda Bridge<\/strong><\/p>\n Varda Bridge is located in the Karaisal\u0131 district of Adana and it is also called as \u201ckoca k\u00f6pr\u00fc\u201d which means \u201cthe grand bridge\u201d by the local people. It was built between the years of 1907-1912 by Germans. That\u2019s why Varda Bridge is also called as \u201cthe German Bridge\u201d by the local people. This bridge has so many bends so it looks very different from the ordinary bridges in terms of its architectural structure. It is 172 m. Length and 99 m. Height.
