Bilecik is located in Turkey; Marmara region. The city is around Sakarya river. Agriculture, mining and forestry are really developed in Bilecik. Bilecik is not a very crowded city when it is compared to some other cities. According to growing rates data, population of Bilecik is approximately 219.427. Survey is 4307 km2 and the licence plate code is 11.<\/p>\n
Bilecik has an important role in history. The city is also one of the first cities which help Anatolian area lives Bronz Age. Also, Ottoman Empire that lasted for 6 centuries, ruled in the city for the first time as a seigniory before empire.
\nThroughout history, a lot of ancient and essential civilisations such as Egypt, Hittite, Phrygian, Lydia, Persian, Macedonia, Rome, Byzantine and Ottoman had ruled in Bilecik.
\nThis city was occupied by Greek Army in 1921.
\nAfter the proclamation of the Turkish Republic, it was decided that Armenian and Rum population in Bilecik were going to sent to Greece and Muslim refugees in Greece were going to settle in Bilecik according to Lausanne Population Exchance.
\nToday, Bilecik is also famous because of some Turkish drama about the establishment period of Ottoman Empire.<\/p>\n

This museum offers an insight onto the chronology of Bilecik. As we wrote before, throughout the history, a great amount of civilisations had lived in Bilecik and the city has so many marks from these cultures. These marks can be seen in S\u00f6\u011f\u00fct Museum. The museum is located in Ertu\u011frul Gazi Street, Kayhan neighborhood of Bilecik.<\/p>\n
We advice you to read the explanations of historical artifacts because there are both archeologic and ethnographic artifacts in S\u00f6\u011f\u00fct Museum.
\nStory of this museum is also very interesting, indeed. Before the opening of it, some ancient stuff had been collected from the villages around the museum and they had been exhibited.
\nS\u00f6\u011f\u00fct Museum opened in 1981. The structure of the building is a kind of tent-shaped and this museum has only one large enterance.
\nPieces in S\u00f6\u011f\u00fct Museum are a bunch of some archeological pieces, some weighing devices and tile samples from Ottoman.<\/p>\n
The second important stop that we wish to mention is Ertu\u011frul Gazi Shrine. This shrine is located in S\u00f6\u011f\u00fct district of Bilecikand there is tomb of Ertu\u011frul Gazi who was the father of Osman Bey. Osman Bey was the reason of establishment of Ottoman Empire. It is known that Ertu\u011frul Gazi had left a war legacy to Osman Bey and caused a sprouting of Ottoman Empire which lasted 6 hundred years.
\nOsman Bey made a traditional grave for his father after his death and later, the grave had been turned into a shrine by covering its outskirts by Mehmet Celebi the first.
\nArchitecture of the shrine is designed as a sixtangle. There is a dome on the top. Enterance is rectangle-shaped. Except of this, rocks in a line and bricks in two lines were used while putting up walls. There are two Windows for each side of the enterance and also there are rectangle windows on the southwest walls. Near the enterance, you can see an epitaph and chests on the walls. There is a remarkable fountain around the shrine.
\nErtu\u011frul Gazi Shrine was restorated a couple of times. Sultan Mustafa the third made a change on shrine in 1757 and Abdulhamit the second made in 1886.<\/p>\n
Bilecik museum was opened in 20017 and there are some other archeological and ethnographic pieces in here such as S\u00f6\u011f\u00fct Museum. This museum is located in the city center so it would be easy for you to go and spend a qualified time!<\/p>\n
There are three areas of tourism in Bilecik which are nature tourism, history and culture tourism and also belief tourism.<\/p>\n
You can use heighway or railway to get to Bilecik. For example, \u0130stanbul is 250 km away from Bilecik and it takes three hours to get to Bilecik from \u0130stanbul. Ankara is 120 km away from the city and the car travel takes 4 hours. \u0130zmir is 430 km away from Bilecik and it takes 5 hours.
\nHere is another life saving information; Bilecik is on the \u0130stanbul \u2013 Ankara railway route.<\/p>\n
According to the protocol, the governor who is assigned by the president of the Republic comes first. Local people who live in the borders of municipality select the mayor. Some of these voters are also members of district municipality council and they can also vote for district municipality council. All of the voters in the province decide who will be in the province council by voting for it. Central administration consists of the governed and province managers. Local administration consists of the mayors and municipality council.<\/p>\n

Kurulmas\u0131ndan \u00f6nce i\u00e7inde sergilenecek e\u015fyalar \u00f6ncesinde \u00e7evre k\u00f6ylerde bulunan halktan toplanm\u0131\u015f ve tarih dokusuna eklenmi\u015ftir. A\u00e7\u0131l\u0131\u015f\u0131 1981 y\u0131l\u0131na dayanmaktad\u0131r. Mimarisi \u00e7ad\u0131r \u015feklinde olan S\u00f6\u011f\u00fct M\u00fczesi, tek bir geni\u015f salondan olu\u015fmaktad\u0131r. Eserlere \u00f6rnek verecek olursak da genel itibar\u0131yla, a\u011f\u0131rl\u0131k \u00f6l\u00e7meye yarayan aletler, arkeolojik eserler ve Osmanl\u0131\u2019dan \u00e7ini \u00f6rnekleri dikkat \u00e7eken eserler aras\u0131nda yer al\u0131r.<\/p>\n
\u0130kinci \u00f6nemli dura\u011f\u0131m\u0131z ise Bilecik\u2019in S\u00f6\u011f\u00fct il\u00e7esinden. T\u00fcrbede Osmanl\u0131\u2019n\u0131n temellerinin kurulmas\u0131n\u0131 sa\u011flayan Osman Bey\u2019in babas\u0131 Ertu\u011frul Gazi\u2019nin kabri yer al\u0131yor. Kendisi T\u00fcrkmen olan Ertu\u011frul Gazi\u2019nin Osman Bey\u2019e sava\u015f miras\u0131 b\u0131rakt\u0131\u011f\u0131 biliniyor ve belki de bu sayede \u00f6mr\u00fc tam 600 y\u0131l s\u00fcren bir imparatorlu\u011fun filizlenmesi ba\u015flam\u0131\u015f oluyor. Osman Bey taraf\u0131ndan, babas\u0131n\u0131n vefat\u0131n\u0131n ard\u0131ndan S\u00f6\u011f\u00fct il\u00e7esinde a\u00e7\u0131k bir mezar \u015feklinde yapt\u0131r\u0131lan t\u00fcrbe, sonradan I. Mehmet \u00c7elebi taraf\u0131ndan kapat\u0131larak t\u00fcrbesi \u015feklini alm\u0131\u015ft\u0131r.
\nT\u00fcrbenin mimari \u00f6zelliklerine gelince, \u015fekil itibar\u0131yla alt\u0131gen bir yap\u0131ya sahip ve \u00fczerinde bir kubbe bulunuyor. \u0130\u00e7eri girerken kullan\u0131lan dikd\u00f6rtgen bir giri\u015fi mevcut. Bunun d\u0131\u015f\u0131nda duvarlar\u0131 \u00f6r\u00fcl\u00fcrken bir s\u0131ra ta\u015f ve iki s\u0131ra tu\u011fla kullan\u0131lm\u0131\u015f. Giri\u015fin yanlar\u0131nda iki\u015fer adet pencere bulunuyor ve g\u00fcneydo\u011fuya bakan duvarlar\u0131nda ise dikd\u00f6rtgen \u015feklinde pencereler dikkat \u00e7ekiyor. Ayr\u0131ca giri\u015fin yan\u0131nda bir kitabe, duvarlarda sand\u0131klar ve t\u00fcrbenin yan\u0131nda bir \u00e7e\u015fme bulunuyor.
\nErtu\u011frul Gazi T\u00fcrbesi pek \u00e7ok kez restorasyon ge\u00e7irmi\u015f. Bunlardan 1757 y\u0131l\u0131nda Sultan III. Mustafa\u2019n\u0131n ve 1886 y\u0131l\u0131nda II. Abd\u00fclhamit\u2019in restorasyonlar\u0131 bilinenleri.<\/p>\n
2007 senesinde hizmete a\u00e7\u0131lm\u0131\u015f olan Bilecik M\u00fczesi’nde arkeolojik ve etnografik eserler sergilenmektedir. \u015eehir merkezinde bulundu\u011fu i\u00e7in m\u00fczeye kolayca eri\u015fim sa\u011flayabilir, g\u00fczel ve \u00f6\u011fretici bir zaman olarak de\u011ferlendirebilirsiniz.<\/p>\n
