Bolu is located in the west side of Black Sea Region of Turkey. However, when Bolu\u2019s climate is considered, two different types of climate are seen in the city; continental climate and Black Sea climate. As a result of this situation, there is variety both animal species and plant species in Bolu. It is a lucky city because of being in the middle of two different climate type!\u00a0Neighbour provinces of Bolu are D\u00fczce and Sakarya in the west, \u00c7ank\u0131r\u0131 in the east, Zonguldak in the north and Ankara in the south. By the way, D\u00fczce was a district which had been a part of Bolu before but later it became a province as well.<\/p>\n
According to the assumptions which base on the data of population growth rate, population of Bolu is 319.024. Licence plate code is 14 and the survey of this city is 8313.<\/p>\n
The first civilisation which lived throughout the history in Bolu is Hittite. After Hittite, there were a lot of essential and ancient civilisations lived in this city. These cultures are Phrygians, lydians, Persians, Macedonian Kingdom (Alexander the Great), Rome Empire, Mongols and Ottoman Empire. As you see, these are great cultural heritage for a city.\u00a0After tanzimat reform era, Bolu was a part of Kastamonu which is another city in Turkey. Seben Lake is the biggest lake in Western Black Sea Region and it is 30 km away from the city center of Bolu.\u00a0This lake is an artificial lake and it is 7 times bigger than Abant Lake. Seben Lake had been started to be prepared in 2006.Caves, forests, rock houses and tablelands around the lake amazes the ones who see. If you want to be far from the crowd and calm, Seben Lake is perfect for you. Just watch the nature and have a nice experience!<\/p>\n
Abant Lake is a set lake and it has a 125-hectares area. It was\u00a0 formated in Abant Mount which is located in the district of Mudurnu. The lake is fed by underground water and its depth is 18 m. The water of Abant Lake flows into Abant Stream and Bolu Creek. Abant Lake was named as \u201cTabiat Park\u0131\u201d which means \u201cPark of Nature\u201d in Turkish because of the beauty of nature and variety in plant diversity around it. You can go for a picnic or camp in Abant Lake.<\/p>\n
This mosque is located in the district of Mudurnu and it had been built by Yildirim Bayezid when he was a prince in the Ottoman period. Name of the mosque comes from here. The building ended in 1382. The interesting point is the mosque survived in the same form without a restoration until today. We are talking about six hundred years here!\u00a0The structure is significant because it is from Ottoman period and it has marks from Ottoman architecture.<\/p>\n
Kartalkaya has a very important role in the winter tourism of Turkey. Kartalkaya Ski Resort is 40 km away from city center of Bolu. It takes approximately 40 minutes to get the ski center from Bolu.\u00a0A lot of people go for a good winter holiday to this ski center. So, Kartalkaya is always crowded in skiing seasons. You can ski in company with pine trees.\u00a0Tourism Area of Bolu\u00a0There are many fields of tourism in Bolu because of its natural and historical beauties. Mostly, winter tourism, thermal tourism, nature tourism, health tourism and culture tourism are known. Especially in thermal tourism area, Bolu is a developed city.<\/p>\n
There is not a railway system or airport in Bolu. So it is not possible to go to this city by train or by plane directly. You can use highway. However, if you insist of airway, you can use Kocaeli Cengiz Topel Airport which is 150 km away from Bolu. After airport, you can transit to Bolu by renting a car or an interprovincial bus. Istanbul is 260 km away from Bolu and it takes 3 hours by car. Ankara is 190 km away from Bolu and it takes 2.30 hours by automobile again. Lastly Izmir is 610 km away from Bolu and it takes 7.30 hours by your own car.<\/p>\n
According to the protocol, the governor who is assigned by the president of the Republic comes first. Local people who live in the borders of municipality select the mayor. Karasal iklim ve Karadeniz iklimi g\u00f6r\u00fcld\u00fc\u011f\u00fc i\u00e7in iklimlerin kesi\u015fmesi sonucunda b\u00f6lgede hem \u00e7e\u015fitli hayvan hem de \u00e7e\u015fitli bitki pop\u00fclasyonu g\u00f6r\u00fclmektedir. 125 hektarl\u0131k set g\u00f6l\u00fc olan Abant G\u00f6l\u00fc, Mudurnu il\u00e7esi i\u00e7indeki Abant Da\u011flar\u0131’nda meydana gelmi\u015ftir. Yer alt\u0131 sular\u0131 ile beslenen g\u00f6l\u00fcn derinli\u011fi 18 metreyi bulmaktad\u0131r. Abant G\u00f6l\u00fc’nden y\u00fckselen sular Abant Deresi ve Bolu \u00c7ay\u0131’na d\u00f6k\u00fclmektedir. Abant G\u00f6l\u00fc civar\u0131ndaki do\u011fan\u0131n g\u00fczelli\u011fi ve bitki \u00e7e\u015fitlili\u011fi sebebi ile 1998 y\u0131l\u0131nda korumaya al\u0131narak Tabiat Park\u0131 ismini alm\u0131\u015ft\u0131r. G\u00f6l\u00fcn \u00e7evresinde piknik ve kamp i\u00e7in uygun alanlar yer almaktad\u0131r.<\/p>\n
Mudurnu il\u00e7esinde yer almas\u0131 ve Osmanl\u0131 D\u00f6neminde \u015fehzade Y\u0131ld\u0131r\u0131m Bayezid taraf\u0131ndan yapt\u0131r\u0131ld\u0131\u011f\u0131 i\u00e7in bu ad\u0131 alm\u0131\u015ft\u0131r. 1382 y\u0131l\u0131nda yap\u0131m\u0131 tamamlanm\u0131\u015ft\u0131r. G\u00fcn\u00fcm\u00fcze kadar ayn\u0131 haliyle gelmi\u015f olan cami ibadete a\u00e7\u0131k haldedir. 600 y\u0131l\u0131 a\u015fk\u0131n zamanda bile kullan\u0131labilir durumda olmas\u0131 dikkat \u00e7ekmektedir. Osmanl\u0131 D\u00f6nemine ait bir yap\u0131 oldu\u011fundan Osmanl\u0131 Mimarisinden \u00f6nemli izler ta\u015f\u0131maktad\u0131r.<\/p>\n
T\u00fcrkiye’deki k\u0131\u015f turizmi i\u00e7in \u00f6nemli bir yer tutan Kartalkaya Kayak Merkezi’nin Bolu\u2019ya uzakl\u0131\u011f\u0131 yakla\u015f\u0131k 40 kilometredir. Bu mesafe ise yakla\u015f\u0131k 40 dakika s\u00fcrmektedir. Kayak sezonu ba\u015flad\u0131\u011f\u0131ndan bitimine kadar olduk\u00e7a yo\u011fun ilgi g\u00f6ren merkez, size \u00e7am a\u011fa\u00e7lar\u0131 e\u015fli\u011finde bir kayak keyfi sunuyor.Bolu\u2019nun Turizm Alan\u0131Bolu\u2019da k\u0131\u015f turizmi, termal turizm, do\u011fa turizmi ve sa\u011fl\u0131k turizmi yap\u0131lmaktad\u0131r. \u00d6zellikle termal turizmde olduk\u00e7a ad\u0131ndan s\u00f6z ettiren bir ilimizdir.<\/p>\n
Bolu\u2019ya karayolu ile ula\u015f\u0131m sa\u011flanmakta, demiryolu ve havaliman\u0131 bulunmad\u0131\u011f\u0131 bu se\u00e7enekleri kafadan elemeniz gerekmektedir. Fakat yak\u0131n bir havaliman\u0131 aktarmas\u0131 ile gitmeyi d\u00fc\u015f\u00fcnenler Bolu\u2019ya yakla\u015f\u0131k 150 kilometrede bulunan Kocaeli Cengiz Topel Havaliman\u0131\u2019n\u0131 se\u00e7eneklerine ekleyebilirler.
