It is located in the southwestern part of Turkey and it has borders with Afyon, Burdur, Antalya, and Konya. It covers an area of 8,993 km2 and its population is 444, 914. The province is located northern sides of the Mediterranean region and the area is called \u2018G\u00f6ller Y\u00f6resi(Lakes area)\u2019. The reason they call this area like this is that the region has many freshwater lakes. The province has 13 districts.<\/p>\n<h2>History<\/h2>\n<p class=\"western\">Its history dates back to paleolithic ages. It was the territory of the Pisidia region in 2002 BC. It is known that these lands also was home to Frigs, Lydians, and Persians. From 546 BC to 334 BC, the area was under the rule of Persian sovereignty.<br \/>\nIn 323 BC, Alexander the Great took over the territory. Western sides on Anatolia had gone over the sovereignty of Greeks. After the death of Alexander the Great, the area was still under the domination of Athens for thirty-six years. In those years, many Athenians came to these lands to settle there. Greeks called these lands \u2018Isbarida\u2019 and the name turns out \u2018Sparta\u2019 and \u2018Isparta\u2019 through time.<br \/>\nIn medieval ages, Islamic states and Byzantium fought f\u0131r these lands. The area was located between East Rome and Byzantium territories. In 1204, Isparta had gone under the rule of the Sultanate of Rum( Anatolian Seljuk State). In 1931, the Ottoman Empire added these lands to its territory. In the period of the Ottoman Empire, Isparta became one of the most important trade centers in Anatolia.<br \/>\nIn the times of the National Struggle of Turkey(1919-1923), Isparta experienced the struggle with Italian occupation. The province showed resistance in that situation. The territory is important for its being a binding location between the central Anatolia, Aegean and Mediterranean regions. Significant improvements have been made through the times of the Republican period.<\/p>\n<h2>Geography and climate<\/h2>\n<p class=\"western\">68,4% of the province is covered with mountains. 16,8% are plains and 14,8% are plateaued in the area. Some parts of the Western Taurus Mountains are in the borders of Isparta. Important mountains of the province are Dedeg\u00f6l, Barla, Davraz, and Akda\u011f. In addition, the most important lakes of the province are; E\u011fridir Lake, Bey\u015fehir Lake, Kovada Lake, and G\u00f6lc\u00fck Crater Lake. In terms of its lakes, mountains, forests, rivers, etc. the province is very rich and allows you to enjoy calm and healthy air if you visit Isparta.<br \/>\nIn the southern parts of the province, the Mediterranean climate has seen. While summers are hot and humid, winters are rainy and temperate. In the high mountains of this province, there are places that are convenient for winter tourism. You can visit the ski-resort in Davraz mountain.<br \/>\nWith the effects of river streams and tectonic moves, canyons are formed in between the mountains and valleys. In some districts of the province, you can see the effects of the steppe climate. In these parts of the province, there are big plains and some high mountains are available (Gelendost, Yalva\u00e7, Semirkent, Uluborlu, Ke\u00e7iborlu, G\u00f6nen).<br \/>\nThe economy of the province is based on agriculture and farming. Isparta is famous for its rose production. Isparta rose is made from the combining od the species \u2018Rosa gallica\u2019 and \u2018rosa moschata\u2019. It is a special form which is called Isparta rose od hazelnut rose. 65% of the world&#8217;s rose oil production is made in Isparta. The province is the best in this sector around the world.<\/p>\n<h2>Culture and cuisine<\/h2>\n<p class=\"western\">Isparta is famous for its roses and carpets. Fortunately, hand weaving carpets have given their spots to the ones that are produced by the machines. But still, you have the chance to buy an old carpet in the city. The other traditional art of this province is its felt works. Isparta is remaining to produce traditional felts and the artisans of this tradition are making wonderful jobs that are admirable from all over the world.<br \/>\nIf you visit Isparta, the first thing that you are going to buy will be probably its rose products like rose oil. Isparta is the world of roses.<\/p>\n<p>The region has a folklore dance which is called \u2018zorlatma\u2019. This dance has two parts; in the first part named \u2018yelleme\u2019 they use their hands and arms in a slow tempo, in the second part named \u2018hoplatma\u2019 they become more active with small jumps, etc.<br \/>\nIsparta has very rich cuisine too. You can see a variety of soup species in their culture. Their most famous kebab is \u2018f\u0131r\u0131n kebab\u2019. The province is rich with its lakes, the situation makes them use the fishes in these lakes. Their local dishes include the fishes like carp fish and trout. They also use a rose in some situations. They made jam out of their famous roses. It is very tasty and delicious. In Yalva\u00e7 district, they made a local dessert which is a type of gullac. They call it \u2018Yalva\u00e7 gullac\u2019.<\/p>\n<h2>Where to visit in Isparta<\/h2>\n<p class=\"western\">Besides having natural beauties, Isparta has also important historical areas to visit. Some natural areas of the province are protected because of their importance.<\/p>\n<h3>Adada Ancient City<\/h3>\n<p class=\"western\">Who built this construction or when is not known, but its first mention in a written text dates back to the 2nd century BC. In the Roman Empire period, the city has lived its golden age. The city&#8217;s construction remains today without any demolition. There are 4 temples in the city and two of them are Emperor temple and Traianus temple. The city also has an ancient road, basilica, theatre, tombs, and a monumental fountain.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"western\">E\u011fridir Lake<\/h3>\n<p class=\"western\">The lake is one of the most important places in the Lakes area. This lake is a freshwater lake and it has natural beauties around it. Because of its location, summers are not sweltering in the area. The area has a lot of bird species like patka, elmaba\u015f, Hungarian duck and sakarmeke.<\/p>\n<h3>Lavender Valley<\/h3>\n<p class=\"western\">This valley is located in the Ke\u00e7iborlu district of Isparta in Kuyucak village. The valley is home to many visitors around the world with its beautiful view and scent. The place is an important income for the villagers around the area. There are also tours to this valley which you can take. You should visit this area at certain times in the year. If you visit there in an appropriate time, you can take wonderous photos with these lavenders.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"western\">Dungeon Cave<\/h3>\n<p class=\"western\">It is located 1 km far from Aksu district city center. The depth of this cave reaches up to 765 meters but the visitors are allowed to go in only 300 meters deep because of the safety issues. The cave is convenient to visit from April to December because the waters are lesser in those times of the year that you can wander around the cave easily.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"western\">Kovada Lake<\/h3>\n<p class=\"western\">The lake is listed as National Park and the area is protected by the government. The environment has many species of trees and plants. At the entrance of the lake, there is a museum about the plants and animals around the lake.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"western\">Saint Paulus Road<\/h3>\n<p class=\"western\">This road is important for the history of Christianity. Saint Pa\u0131lus has traveled using this road. It takes 27 days to walk the road. The environment of the area has natural beauties that you can find a camp area around this road.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"western\">Isparta Museum<\/h3>\n<p class=\"western\">The museum has been on duty since 1985 and it has 17,976 pieces. The museum has 4 parts which are archeology, treasure, ethnography, and carpet section. Also, the museum is exhibiting a part of the famous Isparta houses. It is located in the center of the Isparta district. In the carpet section, you can see old hand weaved carpets and this is an example of a distillation boiler that is used in the production of rose oil.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"western\">Firdevs Pasha Mosque<\/h3>\n<p class=\"western\">It is one of the oldest mosques in Isparta. The mosque is constructed in the style of Mimar Sinan. Which is why they call this mosque Mimar Sinan Mosque sometimes. It was built in 1561.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"western\">Aya Payana Church<\/h3>\n<p class=\"western\">It is assumed that this church was built in 1750. It is located in Turan district which is one of the earliest settlements in the area.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Isparta, T\u00fcrkiye\u2019de bir ildir. Isparta 13 adet il\u00e7eye sahiptir.<\/p>\n<h2>Tarih\u00e7esi<\/h2>\n<p>Isparta\u2019n\u0131n tarihi paleolitik \u00e7a\u011flara kadar dayanmaktad\u0131r. M.\u00d6. 2002\u2019de Pisida b\u00f6lgesinin i\u00e7inde bulunmu\u015ftur. Bu b\u00f6lgenin Friglere, Lidyal\u0131lara ve Perslere de ev sahipli\u011fi yapm\u0131\u015f oldu\u011fu bilinmektedir. M.\u00d6 546 y\u0131l\u0131ndan M.\u00d6. 334 y\u0131l\u0131na kadar b\u00f6lge Pers uygarl\u0131\u011f\u0131 alt\u0131nda bulunmu\u015ftur.<\/p>\n<p>M.\u00d6. 323 y\u0131l\u0131nda B\u00fcy\u00fck \u0130skender bu b\u00f6lgeyi ele ge\u00e7irmi\u015ftir. Anadolu\u2019nun kuzey kesimleri Yunan egemenli\u011fi alt\u0131na girmi\u015ftir. B\u00fcy\u00fck \u0130skender\u2019in \u00f6l\u00fcm\u00fcn\u00fcn ard\u0131ndan bu b\u00f6lge 36 sene boyunca Atina\u2019ya ba\u011fl\u0131 kalm\u0131\u015ft\u0131r. Bu y\u0131llarda Atinal\u0131lar bu b\u00f6lgeye yerle\u015fmeye gelmi\u015ftir ve buraya \u2018Isbarida\u2019 demi\u015flerdir. Bu isim zamanla \u2018Sparta\u2019 ve \u2018Ispata\u2019 olmu\u015ftur.<\/p>\n<p>Orta \u00c7a\u011flarda \u0130slam devletleri ve Bizans da bu topraklar i\u00e7in sava\u015fm\u0131\u015flard\u0131r. Bu b\u00f6lge Do\u011fu Roma ve Bizans topraklar\u0131n\u0131n aras\u0131nda bulunmaktayd\u0131. 1204 senesinde, Isparta Anadolu Sel\u00e7uk\u2019lular\u0131n\u0131n s\u0131n\u0131rlar\u0131 i\u00e7ine girmi\u015ftir. 1931\u2019de Osmanl\u0131 \u0130mparatorlu\u011fu bu topraklar\u0131 alm\u0131\u015ft\u0131r. Osmanl\u0131 d\u00f6neminde Isparta Anadolunun en \u00f6nemli ticaret merkezi haline gelmi\u015ftir.<\/p>\n<p>Milli M\u00fccadele y\u0131llar\u0131nda(1919-1923), b\u00f6lge \u0130talya i\u015fgaline u\u011fram\u0131\u015ft\u0131r. Isparta bu duruma direni\u015f g\u00f6stermi\u015ftir. Isparta\u2019da \u00f6nemli geli\u015fmeler Cumhuriyet d\u00f6neminde ger\u00e7ekle\u015fmi\u015ftir.<\/p>\n<h2>Co\u011frafyas\u0131 ve \u0130klimi<\/h2>\n<p>B\u00f6lgenin %68,4\u2019\u00fc da\u011flarla kapl\u0131d\u0131r. %16,8\u2019i ovalardan ve %14,8\u2019i ise platolardan olu\u015fmaktad\u0131r. Bat\u0131 Toroslar\u0131n bir k\u0131sm\u0131 Isparta ilinin i\u00e7erisinde bulunmaktad\u0131r. Bu b\u00f6lgenin \u00f6nemli da\u011flar\u0131ndan baz\u0131lar\u0131 Dedeg\u00f6l, Barla, Davraz ve Akda\u011f\u2019d\u0131r. Buna ek olarak, en \u00f6nemli g\u00f6lleri ise E\u011fridir G\u00f6l\u00fc, Bey\u015fehir G\u00f6l\u00fc, Kovada G\u00f6l\u00fc ve G\u00f6lc\u00fck Krater G\u00f6l\u00fc\u2019d\u00fcr. B\u00f6lge g\u00f6lleri, ormanlar\u0131, da\u011flar\u0131 ve nehirleri a\u00e7\u0131s\u0131ndan zengindir ve burada sakin ve sa\u011fl\u0131kl\u0131 b\u0131ir deneyim ya\u015fayabilirsiniz.<\/p>\n<p>Isparta\u2019n\u0131n g\u00fcney kesiminde Akdeniz iklimi g\u00f6r\u00fcl\u00fcr. Yazlar\u0131 s\u0131cak ve nemli iken, k\u0131\u015flar\u0131 ya\u011fmurlu ve \u0131l\u0131kt\u0131r. Y\u00fcksek da\u011fl\u0131k b\u00f6lgeler k\u0131\u015f turizmine uygundur. Davraz Da\u011f\u0131ndaki kayak merkezini ziyaret edebilirsiniz.<\/p>\n<p>Akarsular\u0131n ve tektonik hareketlerin sonucu olarak kanyon olu\u015fumlar\u0131 da g\u00f6r\u00fclmektedir. \u0130lin baz\u0131 kesimlerinde bozk\u0131r ikliminin hakimiyeti g\u00f6zlemlenebilir. Bu b\u00f6lgelerde b\u00fcy\u00fck ovalar ve y\u00fcksek da\u011flar vard\u0131r (Gelendost, Yalva\u00e7, Semirkent, Uluborlu, Ke\u00e7iborlu, G\u00f6nen).<\/p>\n<p>B\u00f6lgenin ekonomisi tar\u0131m ve hayvanc\u0131l\u0131\u011fa dayan\u0131r. Isparta g\u00fcl \u00fcretimiyle me\u015fhur bir kenttir. Isparta g\u00fcl\u00fc, \u2018Rosa gallica\u2019 ve \u2018rosa moschata\u2019 adl\u0131 g\u00fcl t\u00fcrlerinin birle\u015fimlerinden \u00fcretilir ve ayn\u0131 zamanda f\u0131nd\u0131k g\u00fcl\u00fc de denir. D\u00fcnyan\u0131n %65 oran\u0131ndaki g\u00fcl ya\u011f\u0131 \u00fcretimi Isparta\u2019da ger\u00e7ekle\u015fir. Isparta bu sekt\u00f6rde d\u00fcnyan\u0131n en iyisidir.<\/p>\n<h2>K\u00fclt\u00fcr\u00fc ve mutfa\u011f\u0131<\/h2>\n<p>Isparta g\u00fcl\u00fc ve hal\u0131lar\u0131yla \u00fcnl\u00fc bir ildir. Isparta hala bu ke\u00e7eleri \u00fcretmeye devam etmektedir ve bu i\u015fin zanaatkarlar\u0131 d\u00fcnyaca ilgi g\u00f6ren \u00e7ok g\u00fczel i\u015fler \u00e7\u0131karmaktad\u0131rlar.<\/p>\n<p>Isparta\u2019y\u0131 ziyaret ederseniz il alaca\u011f\u0131n\u0131z \u015fey muhtemelen g\u00fcl \u00fcr\u00fcnleri olacakt\u0131r. Isparta g\u00fcllerin d\u00fcnyas\u0131d\u0131r.<\/p>\n<p>Bu b\u00f6lgenin \u2018zorlatma\u2019 ad\u0131nda bir folklor dans\u0131 vard\u0131r. Me\u015fhur olan g\u00fclleri ile re\u00e7el yapmaktad\u0131rlar. \u00c7ok lezzetli ve tatl\u0131 bir re\u00e7eldir. Yalva\u00e7 il\u00e7esinin ise kendine has bir g\u00fclla\u00e7 t\u00fcr\u00fc vard\u0131r ve buna \u2018yalva\u00e7 g\u00fcllac\u0131 derler.<\/p>\n<h2>Isparta\u2019da nereyi gezmeli<\/h2>\n<p>Do\u011fal g\u00fczelliklere sahip olman\u0131n yan\u0131nda bir\u00e7ok \u00f6nemli tarihi alana da sahiptir. Bu b\u00f6lgedeki baz\u0131 do\u011fal b\u00f6lgeler \u00f6nemleri a\u00e7\u0131s\u0131ndan korunmaktad\u0131r ve sit alan\u0131 olarak ilan edilmi\u015ftir.<\/p>\n<h3>Adada Antik Kenti<\/h3>\n<p>Bu kenti kimin ve ne zaman yapt\u0131\u011f\u0131 bilinmemektedir ama il yaz\u0131l\u0131 metinlerde ge\u00e7ti\u011fi zaman M.\u00d6. 2. y\u00fczy\u0131la aittir. Roma \u0130mparatorlu\u011fu d\u00f6neminde bu kent alt\u0131n \u00e7a\u011flar\u0131n\u0131 ya\u015fam\u0131\u015ft\u0131r. G\u00fczel g\u00f6r\u00fcnt\u00fcs\u00fc ve muhte\u015fem kokusuyla b\u00f6lge d\u00fcnya \u00e7ap\u0131nda bir s\u00fcr\u00fc ziyaret\u00e7iye ev sahipli\u011fi yapmaktad\u0131r. Bu b\u00f6lge, \u00e7evredeki ya\u015fayanlar i\u00e7in b\u00fcy\u00fck bir gelir kayna\u011f\u0131d\u0131r. Bu b\u00f6lgeye yap\u0131lan turlar da bulunmaktad\u0131r. Buray\u0131 y\u0131l\u0131n belli zamanlar\u0131nda ziyaret etmelisiniz. E\u011fer do\u011fru zamanda ziyaret edebilirsiniz bu g\u00fczel lavanta bah\u00e7esiyle m\u00fckemmel foto\u011fraflar \u00e7ekebilirsiniz.<\/p>\n<h3>Zindan Ma\u011faras\u0131<\/h3>\n<p>Aksu il\u00e7esi merkezine 1 km uzakl\u0131kta bulunmaktad\u0131r. Ma\u011faran\u0131n derinli\u011fi 765 metreyi bulmaktad\u0131r fakat ziyaret\u00e7ilerin sadece 300 metreye kadar girebilmelerine izin verilmi\u015ftir. Nisan ve Aral\u0131k aylar\u0131nda ziyaret edilmesi daha uygundur \u00e7\u00fcnk\u00fc bu d\u00f6nemde su seviyesi daha azd\u0131r. Bundan dolay\u0131 daha rahatl\u0131kla gezilebilir.<\/p>\n<h3>Kovada G\u00f6l\u00fc<\/h3>\n<p>Bu b\u00f6lge Milli Park olarak belirlenmi\u015ftir ve sit alan\u0131d\u0131r. B\u00f6lge bir\u00e7ok a\u011fa\u00e7 ve bitki \u00e7e\u015fidi bar\u0131nd\u0131rmaktad\u0131r. G\u00f6l\u00fcn giri\u015finde bu a\u011fa\u00e7lar\u0131n ve bitkilerin anlat\u0131ld\u0131\u011f\u0131 bir m\u00fcze bulunmaktad\u0131r.<\/p>\n<h3>Aziz Paulus Yolu<\/h3>\n<p>Hristiyanl\u0131k tarihi a\u00e7\u0131s\u0131ndan \u00f6nem ta\u015f\u0131yan bir yoldur. Aziz Paulus bu yoldan y\u00fcr\u00fcyerek gezi yapm\u0131\u015ft\u0131r. Yolun y\u00fcr\u00fcnmesi tam 27 g\u00fcn s\u00fcrmektedir. B\u00f6lge bir\u00e7ok do\u011fal g\u00fczelli\u011fe sahiptir ve yolun \u00e7evresinde kamp alanlar\u0131 bulabilirsiniz.<\/p>\n<h3>Isparta M\u00fczesi<\/h3>\n<p>M\u00fcze 17,976 par\u00e7a esere sahiptir ve 1985 senesinden beri halka a\u00e7\u0131kt\u0131r. M\u00fcze 4 b\u00f6l\u00fcmden olu\u015fur; arkeoloji, hazine, etno\u011frafya ve hal\u0131 b\u00f6l\u00fcm\u00fc. Ayr\u0131ca m\u00fcze \u00fcnl\u00fc tarihi Isparta evlerinin de bir k\u0131sm\u0131n\u0131 sergilemektedir. Isparta il merkezinde bulunur.
