HISTORY<\/strong>:<\/strong><\/h2>\n

The history of S\u0131rnak province, which has a very old history\u00a0,\u00a0dates back to the pre-Noah’s Flood, according to the book “Seyahatname” written by Evliya Celebi in the 17th century.\u00a0According to this rumor, it is rumored that Noah’s ship is located on the top of the Cudi mountain, whose height is within the borders of S\u0131rnak, reaching up to 2089 meters\u00a0.\u00a0Although there is no definite information about the source of S\u0131rnak’s name, there are various rumors.\u00a0The name of this city, which was called \u201cSehr-i Nuh\u201d, which previously meant the City of Noah, changed over time and became \u201cSernah\u201d, \u201cS\u0131rnek\u201d and today, \u201cS\u0131rnak\u201d.<\/p>\n

S\u0131rnak, which was a village during the Ottoman period, became a district of Siirt in 1927 and a province in 1990.\u00a0Date May 16, 1990 it was separated from the Siirt province and became the 73. province of Turkey with the law numbered 3647.\u00a0With the same law, G\u00fc\u00e7l\u00fckonak subdistrict of Eruh district of Siirt became the district of this province, and the towns of Mardin’s \u0130dil, Cizre and Silopi were connected there.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/strong>PLACES TO VISIT<\/strong><\/p>\n

Finik Ruins and Citadel: <\/strong>The\u00a0<\/strong>ruins dating back to 4000 BC are in Cizre.\u00a0It is located opposite the Duzova and \u0130dil Hendek villages on the banks of the Tigris River in the town of Gu\u00e7lukonak.\u00a0Here are relief sculptures of Assyrians and Gutis.\u00a0Water cisterns, rock carved houses and women’s paintings, hidden water stairs are the most important works.<\/p>\n

Babil Ruins\u00a0: <\/strong>The\u00a0<\/strong>surroundings of Babil Ruins are located in Kebeli village,\u00a020\u00a0km southwest of\u00a0Cizre, on the\u00a0Syrian border, surrounded by rectangular walls.\u00a0There are approximately 30 towers in these walls forming the outer fortress.\u00a0The inner castle is in the form of a circle.\u00a0The walls are made of uncorked basalt rocks and the structures are made of white limestone.<\/p>\n

Cizre K\u0131rm\u0131z\u0131 Madrasah\u00a0:\u00a0<\/strong>It was built in the\u00a0XIV.\u00a0Century\u00a0by II. Han Seref Bey during the period of Cizre principality\u00a0.\u00a0The madrasah has a courtyard,\u00a0and there are classrooms, dining hall and teacher lodges in the east and west.\u00a0Its altar is made of white stone and\u00a0measures\u00a02.82\u00a0x\u00a03.78.\u00a0The madrasa is called the Red Madrasa because it is built from red bricks unique to Cizre.<\/p>\n

Cizre Castle:\u00a0<\/strong>Cizre Castle and \u00a0Walls of Cizre\u00a0 were \u00a0built by the Guti Empire in 4000 BC.\u00a0Cizre Castle is on the banks of the Tigris River in the north of the city.\u00a0The fort consists of outer walls and inner walls.\u00a0The\u00a0castle, which can be followed\u00a0during the Roman and Byzantine periods\u00a0, has\u00a0survived from the\u00a0XII. century to the XVI.\u00a0century, as it took during the Mosul Atabeks and Cizre Beys.<\/p>\n

Tomb of the\u00a0Prophet\u00a0Noah\u00a0<\/strong>:\u00a0After the\u00a0death of\u00a0the Prophet\u00a0Noah,\u00a0who settled in Cizre after the\u00a0great flood\u00a0, he was buried in Dagkap\u0131. There is a grave in the basement of the mosque in the southern part of Nuh Mosque.\u00a0It was first converted into a synagogue, then a church, and a mosque in 639.<\/p>\n

Abdaliye Madrasa:<\/strong> It is between the\u00a0Cizre Dagkap\u0131 and the cemetery.\u00a0It was built\u00a0in 1437 by Emir Abdullah\u00a0(Abdal) Ibn Abdillah Ibn Seyfeddin Boti, one of the\u00a0beys of Cizre\u00a0.\u00a0He is the father of Emir Zeynuddin, who was involved in the Mem-u Zin incident.\u00a0Mem-u Zin shrines are located in the south under the administrative chambers, the owners of the world-famous love story.<\/p>\n

Virgin Mary Church:\u00a0<\/strong>The church, built in\u00a057 AD,\u00a0is located in \u0130dil district of S\u0131rnak province.\u00a0The church belonging to the Syriac Orthodox community is active.\u00a0A bell fortress was added later.<\/p>\n

TOURISM<\/strong><\/h2>\n

S\u0131rnak province has important touristic attractions with its rich history, cultural resources and natural values.\u00a0In the province where the development in the tourism sector is not sufficient, tourism and recreation facilities have not developed at the desired level in terms of quality and quantity.\u00a0The historical monuments, natural beauties and other sights worth seeing in the city cannot be evaluated properly due to the lack of sufficient infrastructure and tourist investments.\u00a0One of the most important tourist values \u200b\u200bis Mount Cudi.<\/p>\n

Cudi Mountain:\u00a0<\/strong>One of the first names that come to mind when it comes to \u015e\u0131rnak, the mountain has been the subject of many historical stories and has hosted many civilizations.\u00a0It is believed that Noah’s ark also landed on this mountain.\u00a0Mount Cudi\u00a0is also\u00a0an area suitable for\u00a0trekking and hiking\u00a0.<\/p>\n

River Tourism\u00a0(Canoe-Rafting)\u00a0:\u00a0<\/strong>The Tigris River, which is fed by K\u0131z\u0131lsu, Habur and Hezil streams, which is the most important river of the province, is suitable for river tourism.<\/p>\n
