According to the Turkish Statistics Institution (TUIK) reports published on 4 February 2020, Mu\u015f has a population of 408.809 people. Its economy mostly depends on agriculture and breeding. Its altitude is 1334 meters and its survey is 8.196-kilometer\u00a0squares. The governor of Mu\u015f is \u0130lker G\u00fcnd\u00fcz\u00f6z. Its license plaque code is 49. Mu\u015f has 6 provinces with the central one, 23 municipalities, 121 neighborhoods and 364 villages. Bulan\u0131k, Hask\u00f6y, Korkut, Malazgirt, Merkez and Varto are the counties of Mu\u015f.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Mu\u015f is famous for its tulip and grapes. It\u2019s also known for the Battle of Malazgirt and Alparslan. <\/span><\/p>\n<h2 class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\"><b>A Short History of Mu\u015f<\/b><\/span><\/h2>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">There are different theories about where the name Mu\u015f comes from but the most accepted one among these is that it comes from Mu\u015fki people. Mu\u015fki tribe used to live in the southern mountains of Mu\u015f. It\u2019s believed that it was possibly them who constructed the castle in the K\u0131z\u0131l Ziyaret hill. This castle was later taken down by Suleiman the Great. It\u2019s possible to see the stone rubbings in the shape of clover which is said to be a sign of Mu\u015fki people. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Regarding the Assyrian sources, Mu\u015f region was a part of Nairi country which depended on the Urartus. That region was also named as Taron in sources emerging later.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>According to these sources, we can say that Mu\u015f welcomed Scythian, Med, Pers, Macedonian, Selevko, Roman, Part, Arsaces, Byzantine and Sasanis during history. Then it became first an Umayyad and then an Abbasid city. It was even destroyed by the Mongols. In the end, in 1514 it became an Ottoman city. Most of the city\u2019s population consisted of Armenian people during the Ottoman times. <\/span><\/p>\n<h2 class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\"><b>Where to Go in Mu\u015f?<\/b><\/span><\/h2>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Mu\u015f is one of the most beautiful cities in the Eastern Anatolian Region with its historical mosques, castles and houses.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3 class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\"><b>Holy Followers Convent<\/b><\/span><\/h3>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">It\u2019s also known as Arak Convent. It was constructed by St. Grigor the Enlightener in the 4th century. It\u2019s located in Kepenek village and is an Armenian convent. <\/span><\/p>\n<h3 class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s1\"><b>Mu\u015f Castle<\/b><\/span><\/h3>\n<p class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s1\">It\u2019s located in the centre of Mu\u015f. It\u2019s one of the oldest places in the city. Its history isn\u2019t known certainly but it\u2019s believed that it dates back to 7th century.<\/span><span class=\"s1\">\u00a0It was renewed as a park by the municipality and is today used as a picnic area by the people of Mu\u015f. <\/span><\/p>\n<h3 class=\"p4\"><span class=\"s1\"><b>Malazgirt Castle<\/b><\/span><\/h3>\n<p class=\"p4\"><span class=\"s1\">It\u2019s a gorgeous castle. Regarding the Islamic sources, this castle saw a lot of wars during the earlier times of Islam. <\/span><\/p>\n<h3 class=\"p6\"><span class=\"s1\"><b>Ha\u00e7l\u0131 Lake<\/b><\/span><\/h3>\n<p class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s1\">It\u2019s also known as Kazan or Bulan\u0131k lake. It\u2019s located in the east of Bulan\u0131k province of Mu\u015f and is a volcanic lake.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3 class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s1\"><b>Historical Murat Bridge<\/b><\/span><\/h3>\n<p class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s1\">It\u2019s a Seljuk era bridge but its history isn\u2019t known for sure. It\u2019s still used today. <\/span><\/p>\n<h2 class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s1\"><b>How to Go to Mu\u015f?<\/b><\/span><\/h2>\n<p class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s1\">It\u2019s possible to go to the beautiful and historic city of Eastern Anatolia, Mu\u015f, by airway, railway or freeway. If you want to take a car ride from \u0130stanbul to Mu\u015f, it\u2019s 1319 kilometres and it takes around 15 hours. If you are to go there from Ankara, it\u2019s 998 kilometres and the journey takes around 10hours. There are regular bus fares from many cities of Turkey to Mu\u015f. Mu\u015f Bus Station is near to the city centre. If you want to take a train, you can take the train from Ankara to Tatvan, the Van Lake Express, as one of its stops is in Mu\u015f. If you want to take a flight, you can take a flight from \u0130stanbul and Ankara to Mu\u015f Airport which has been in service since 1992.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2 class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\"><b>Mu\u015f \u015eehir Tan\u0131t\u0131m\u0131<\/b><\/span><\/h2>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Mu\u015f, T\u00fcrkiye\u2019nin bir ilidir ve Do\u011fu Anadolu B\u00f6lgesi\u2019nde bulunur. Bu teorilerin en \u00e7ok kabul g\u00f6reni, ismin Mu\u015fkilerden geldi\u011fi y\u00f6n\u00fcnde olan teoridir. M\u00fc\u015fki halk\u0131, Mu\u015f\u2019un g\u00fcneyindeki da\u011flarda ya\u015fard\u0131. K\u0131z\u0131l Ziyaret Tepesi\u2019ndeki kaleyi de Mu\u015fki halk\u0131n\u0131n in\u015fa etmi\u015f olabilece\u011fi d\u00fc\u015f\u00fcn\u00fcl\u00fcr. Bu kale sonrada Kanuni Sultan S\u00fcleyman taraf\u0131ndan y\u0131kt\u0131r\u0131lm\u0131\u015ft\u0131r. Mu\u015f\u2019ta s\u0131k s\u0131k, Mutki halk\u0131na ait bir simge oldu\u011fu d\u00fc\u015f\u00fcn\u00fclen yonca yontmalar\u0131na rastlamak m\u00fcmk\u00fcnd\u00fcr. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Asur kaynaklar\u0131na g\u00f6re, Mu\u015f bir zamanlar Urartulara ba\u011fl\u0131 olan Nairi \u00fclkesinin bir par\u00e7as\u0131yd\u0131. Daha sonraki kaynaklarda, b\u00f6lgeden Taron diye de bahsedildi\u011fi g\u00f6r\u00fc\u015fm\u00fc\u015ft\u00fcr. Kepenek K\u00f6y\u00fcnde bulunan bir Ermeni manast\u0131r\u0131d\u0131r.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3 class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s1\"><b>Mu\u015f Kalesi<\/b><\/span><\/h3>\n<p class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s1\">Mu\u015f Kalesi \u015eehir merkezinde bulunur. \u015eehirdeki en eski yap\u0131lardan biridir. Tarihi tam olarak bilinmese de, 7. Y\u00fczy\u0131lda in\u015fa edildi\u011fi d\u00fc\u015f\u00fcn\u00fclmektedir. Belediye taraf\u0131ndan yenilenmi\u015ftir ve g\u00fcn\u00fcm\u00fczde halk taraf\u0131ndan piknik alan\u0131 olarak kullan\u0131lmaktad\u0131r.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3 class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s1\"><b>Malazgirt Kalesi<\/b><\/span><\/h3>\n<p class=\"p5\"><span class=\"s1\">Olduk\u00e7a g\u00f6rkemli bir kale olan Mazgirt Kalesi, \u0130slami kaynaklara g\u00f6re, \u0130slam\u2019\u0131n ilk zamanlar\u0131nda pek \u00e7ok sava\u015fa \u015fahit olmu\u015ftur.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3 class=\"p7\"><span class=\"s1\"><b>Ha\u00e7l\u0131 G\u00f6l\u00fc<\/b><\/span><\/h3>\n<p class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s1\">Kazan ya da Bulan\u0131k G\u00f6l\u00fc olarak da bilinen Ha\u00e7l\u0131 G\u00f6l\u00fc, Mu\u015f\u2019un Bulan\u0131k il\u00e7esinin g\u00fcneyinde yer al\u0131r.
