THE MEDITERRANEAN REGION<\/b><\/strong>

\n<\/span>The Mediterranean Region, which is named after Mediterranean Sea, is located in the southern part of Turkey. The region occupies the 15% of the total area of the country and it has approximately 120.000 square kilometers of land.<\/span>
\n<\/span>
\n<\/span>According to the latest census, there are 8 million people living in the Mediterranean Region and the majority of these people are from the Adana province which is also one of the biggest cities on the country in terms of its population. There are many reasons as to why Adana is the most crowded city of the region, however, one of the biggest reasons is that there are many opportunities for farmers and there are quite a lot of factories there. <\/span>
\n<\/span>
\n<\/span>When it comes to industrial services, the Mediterranean region plays a key role again as it is possible to see many factories, especially around the city of Adana, that produce the likes of tobacco, farming tools, glass, bricks and so on. Another important point about the Mediterranean region is that the region, as a whole, is a favorable place for agriculture and it makes it possible for the farmers there to grow many kinds of agricultural products throughout a year. The most common agricultural products grown in the region can be listed as rice, cotton, banana, sugar beet, peanut and etc. It is the diversity what makes this place one of the most important regions for farmers in Turkey, actually.<\/span>

\n<\/span>Although there are many other things to do, tourism can be considered as the greatest asset of the region considering the potential of the city of Antalya. Every year millions of tourists spend their summer vacations in Antalya and this provides Turkey with millions of dollars of revenue. The fact that the region\u2019s average temperature throughout the year is 18 \u00b0C \u00a0makes it one of the favorite places to visit for Turkish people as well because it is possible to have a summer-like vacation there in the region even when it\u2019s quite freezing in any other regions of Turkey. Despite the fact that it is the Mediterranean climate which shapes the general qualities of Antalya, it is not surprising to see that the Continental climate plays a role mostly in the western part of the region, too. The Mediterranean Region is obviously the country\u2019s warmest place in nearly every season but there\u2019s diversity in terms of climate and weather conditions, as well. <\/span>
