Prague, known as the Czech Praha, is the largest city and capital of the Czech Republic or Czech Republic. This city was also the capital of Czechoslovakia in the past. Located on the Vitana River, Prague has a population of 1.2 million. At the same time, according to various statistics, in addition to this number, 300,000 people live in Prague without official registration. Prague is considered by many to be one of the most beautiful cities in the world. Prague is also known by various names such as the “Golden City”, “Left Bank of the Nineties”, “Fairy Tale City”, “Mother of Cities” and “Heart of Europe”.<\/span><\/p>\n

The historical story of Prague is just as sad. When Adolf Hitler ordered the German Army to enter Prague on March 15, 1939, a state of chaos began. One reason for this is that Prague is home to many Jewish citizens throughout its history. Hitler’s attitude towards the Jews affected everyone in the city. With Prague occupied by Nazi Germany in 1939, most of the Jews living in the city were deported or killed by the Germans.<\/span><\/p>\n

Prague, which was exposed to bombs during the war, suffered a lot of damage. It is known that more than 1000 people have been injured and that many names have been killed. At the same time, factories and many historical buildings have been damaged. However, the damage of historical buildings has been repaired and many buildings have been moved to the present day.<\/span><\/p>\n

Prague is a city of historical buildings and houses. These places include St. Vitus Cathedral is perhaps the most famous. For this reason, Prague, which has been in high demand in tourism in recent years, is home to many tourists. Since 1992, Prague’s historic center has been on the World Heritage list of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).<\/span><\/p>\n

One of the most important historical monuments of Prague is the Charles Bridge. Peter Parler, the chief architect of his time, built this bridge in the 13th century and connected the two sides of the Vitana River. This bridge is still one of the most important works of the city. Anyone who wants to watch the sunrise in the city comes to the Charles Bridge. Prague Castle, where we can see Prague in all its glory, is another important historical monument. The Old Town Square, the old town square, is the historical center of Prague, located west of the Vitana River. Prague’s famous clock tower is an interesting engineering wonder built 500 years ago.<\/span><\/p>\n

Prague’s food culture is also very rich. Foods that are consumed in Prague are suitable for all kinds of needs and desires, appealing to all tastes and not leaving many international tastes unanswered. Fish, venison and vegetarian dishes are very common in Prague. At the same time, sauerkraut meat, roasted meat, schnitzel served with a special potato salad, steak and dumplings served with tomato and mushroom sauces, fruit dumpling coated with feta cheese and sugar are among the main traditional tastes of the city. Food culture in Prague, which attracts attention with its various cakes in its bakeries, is as important as drink culture. The Czech people are known to be the most beer-consuming people in the world. This fact maybe surprized you but that\u2019s true.
