Vienna is the capital and the largest city of Austria. It is also one of the nine states in country. Vienna is very crowded and there are so many different inhabitants in that beautiful city. Total population is 1.8 millions. Most of the ethnicity of the population is Austrian in Vienna (61,2%). Its official currency is Euro like any other European Union country. When it comes to religion, %41,3% of the population is Catholic.<\/span><\/p>\n

Unlike Turkey, there are symbols or flags of the cities just like the countries in some regions. Vienna is one of them. The flag of Vienna consists of the colors of red and white.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

That magical city has oceanic climate.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Vienna is the centre of music, culture, politics and economy of the country.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The country\u2019s name was actually Austro-Hungarian Empire till the World War I. Then it was splitted in two. Until the splitting, Vienna was the largest German speaking city. After that, it became the second largest German speaking city after Berlin. Vienna is also one of the cities which has the highest HDI (Human Developement Index). That means a lot for a city. Education, tolerance among citizens, science, economy are qualified in Vienna.<\/span><\/p>\n

The city is known as city of music and city of dreams. It is music centre of Europe. It was also homeland to the famous psychoanalyst Sigmund Freud. That\u2019s why people call it as city of dreams.<\/span><\/p>\n

Here is another interesting information about Vienna; it was the world\u2019s most preferable stop for international congresses and conferences between the years of 2005-2010.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

So many significant musicians had worked there such as Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Joseph Haydn, Ludwig van Beethoven, Ferdinand Ries, Franz Schubert, Johannes Brahms, Gustav Mahler, Robert Stolz, and Arnold Schoenberg.<\/span><\/p>\n

What about places to see and dishes to eat? Culture is one of the most important issues for tourists who try to have an idea about a city. When it comes to Vienna\u2019s traditional foods; the most known ones are\u00a0 Wiener Schnitzel which is the most famous dish, Tafelspitz which is a boiled beef, Apfelkren, Milchrahmstrudel, Palatschinken and Sachertorte which are kinds of dessert. As drink; they are master of wine!\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Vienna; city of dream and music is always one of favourites of tourists. We picked some destinations which must have seen. There are so many palaces to see in the city. For instance; Hofburg, Sch\u00f6nbrunn and Riesenrad. If you like to be with art, you should see\u00a0 Albertina, Belvedere, Leopold Museum, KunstHausWien, Bank Austria Kunstforum, the twin Kunsthistorisches Museum and Naturhistorisches Museum, and the Technisches Museum Wien.<\/span><\/p>\n

After all those visits to museums may make you hungry or thirsty. You are lucky because Vienna has so many cafes and it is famous with its filtering and dark coffee.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Of course with all these cultural heritage and buindings, Vienna has also a perfect beauty with its nature. It welcomes many parks including the Stadtpark, the Burggarten, the Volksgarten (part of the Hofburg), the Schlosspark, the Donaupark, the Sch\u00f6nbrunner Schlosspark, the Prater, the Augarten, the Rathauspark, the Lainzer Tiergarten, the Dehnepark, the Resselpark, the Votivpark, the Kurpark Oberlaa, the Auer-Welsbach-Park and the T\u00fcrkenschanzpark.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
