Greece which is the neighbour of Macedonia, Bulgaria, Albania and Turkey, is one of the most important cultural and historical stops in the world. Because this country has many beautiful beaches, Greece is preferred by tourists not only for historical reasons but also for summer tourism. Greece is also a continuation of Hellene civilization and the most important center of philosophy.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Its official name is Republic of Hellene. Greece conquered by Alexander the Great and after conquering, Greek culture had chance to expand to worldwide. However modern Greece started to rule after it declared its own independence from Ottoman Empire.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Greece is located in the south of the Balkans and its capital city is Athens. Greece is a member of European Union, so its currency is Euro as the other European Union countries. The country\u2019s official language is Greek however country has so many minorities which cause a variety in languages such as Turkish, Armenian, Macedonian and Albanian.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Greece has a lovely climate if you are a sun lover. Summers are hot and winters are warm and rainy in this small country. So, whenever you decide to go, it will be ok. Just remember to take your umbrella with you if you are planning to go in autumn. In winter average temperature is 7 degrees and in summer approximately 29 degrees.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Finding a place to stay is very easy in Greece but you need to be careful and book early. Because some hotels are very expensive, and they can be crowded especially in summers.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Public transportation is very well designed in Greece. Subway, bus, train or ferry may be preferred by tourists. However still there is a big traffic problem because of high population rate. Taxi prices are very low compared to the other European countries.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Places to see in Greece can appeal to almost everyone, because there are many various stops. If you are a museum lover, you should see Acropolice Museum, National Archaeology Museum, Benaki, Cycladic Art, Byzantine Museum, War Museum, Ancient Agora Museum. Greece is also famous with its islands such as Mykonos, Rhodes, Kos, Samos, Chios, Lesvos and Crete.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Greece has naturally Mediterranean climate and its cuisine is also Mediterranean. This rich cuisine allows you to taste marinate dishes and lots of people prefer this.
