Karadeniz Bölgesi
Adını Karadeniz’den alan ‘Karadeniz Bölgesi’, Türkiye’nin kuzeyinde bulunur. Ülke topraklarının %18’ini oluşturan bölge, 141.000 kilometre karelik topraklarıyla ülkenin en büyük bölgelerinden biridir.
2010 nüfus sayımlarına göre, Karadeniz Bölgesi’nde çoğu kırsal alanda olmak üzere 7,540,000 kişi yaşıyor. Bu da bu bölgeyi Türkiye’de, kırsal alanda yaşayanların şehirde yaşayanlardan daha fazla olduğu tek bölge yapıyor. Bölgenin dağlık alanlardan ve kayalık kıyılardan oluşuyor olması büyük şehirlerin kurulmasını zorlaştırıyor.
Karadeniz Bölgesi, tarım ürünleri ve deniz ürünleriyle ülke ekonomisine en çok katkı sağlayan beşinci bölge konumundadır. İklim koşulları nedeniyle bölgede çiftçilik biraz zorlu olsa da çay, fındık, zeytin, pirinç gibi tarım ürünleri yetiştirmek, bölgede yaşayan insanların en önemli gelir kaynaklarından biridir. Karadeniz Bölgesi’ndeki çay yetiştiriciler tüm ülkenin çay ihtiyacını karşılarlar. Bunlara ek olarak, hayvancılık da bölgedeki yüksek dağlardan ve çimenlik alanlardan oluşan bitki örtüsünden ötürü ekonomik anlamda bölgenin en önemli sektörlerinden biridir. Öte yandan, bölge en çok yılda en çok yağış alan bölgelerden biridir. Bu oranın yıl boyunca yüksek olduğu söylenebilir.
Konu turizm olunca, Karadeniz Bölgesi, tarihi mekanlar ve kalıntılar bakımından zengin olan Kuzey Anadolu’da bulunduğu için, pek çok avantaja sahiptir. Bölgenin deniz turizmi açısından çok gelişmiş bir bölge olduğunu söylemek mümkün değil fakat son zamanlarda Amasya ve Sinop gibi Batı Karadeniz’de bulunan şehirlerde bu konuda gelişmeler olduğu söylenebilir. Örneğin, Kaçkar Dağları etrafındaki buzul gölleri ve buradaki çeşitli bitki türleri Karadeniz Bölgesi’ni ziyaret etmek isteyenler için oldukça çekici hale geliyor. Aynı zamanda, Bolu’daki Abant da muhteşem doğasıyla ülkedeki en çok ziyaret edilen yerlerden biridir. Abant, kış mevsiminde de kış sporlarını sevenler için favori yerlerden biri haline gelir.

THE BLACK SEA REGION
The Black Sea Region, which is named after the Black Sea, is located in the northern part of Turkey. Occupying the 18% of the total area of the country, the Black Sea Region is one of the largest regions with its 141.000 square kilometers of land.
According to the census of 2010, the Black Sea Region has 7,540,000 inhabitants majority of which live in the rural areas. This makes it the only region of Turkey in which the rural areas are occupied by more people than the urban ones. The fact that the place is full of mountains and rocky coasts makes it difficult to establish large and developed cities.
The Black Sea Region is the fifth biggest contributor to the country’s economy with its agricultural products and sea products. Due to the climate and weather conditions, it’s a bit difficult to be engaged in farming in the Black Sea Region but producing the likes of tea, hazelnut, oil, rice and etc. is one of the greatest sources of income for the people living in the region. It goes without saying that the farmers of the Black Sea Region are the biggest tea suppliers of the country. In addition to these, livestock industry is one of the most important sectors of the region in terms of economy as there’s a massive plant cover with lots of high mountains, and meadows. On the other hand, the region has one of the greatest precipitation rates. It can be concluded that it is high throughout the whole year.
When it comes to tourism, the Black Sea Region has many advantages with its stunning landscapes and historical places as it is located in the northern Anatolia which means it is very rich in terms of historical places and artifacts. It’s not possible to comment that the sea tourism is very developed in the region, however, there has been some developments in that sense in the Western Black Sea, in such cities as Amasya and Sinop recently. For example, the glacial lakes around the Kackar Mountains and some different plant species out there are becoming really attractive for the people who would like to visit the Black Sea Region. Additionally, Abant, which is located in the city of Bolu, is one of the most visited places in the whole country with its fascinating natural beauty. In winter, it becomes a favorite place for the people who love winter sports, as well.
