The first one is, of course, the winner of the best picture award. It is a special movie indeed because Parasite is the first foreign language movie which has won an Oscar in the best picture category. Except the best picture, it also won Oscar in the category of the best director (Bong Joon-Jo), the best foreign-language film, the best original screenplay (Han Jin-won, Bong Joon-Ho), the best production design (Won-Woo Cho, Lee Ha-Jun) and the best film editing (Yang Jin-mo).
This movie is a winner of the six awards, and this is really something.
When it comes to the plot, we need to warn you about some spoilers. So please be aware of this when you are reading.
The Parasite actually a black comedy thriller movie and it starts with the Kim family. Father Ki-taek, mother Chung-sook, daughter Ki-jeong and son Ki-wuu. They live in a small apartment flat which is a kind of semi-basement. They have hard times because of their financial situation, they all have low-paying jobs and their jobs are temporary in general.
Their lives change when a friend of the son and a university student, Min Hyuk, comes to them and tells them that he has to go abroad and asked Ki-wuu to take his job which is a special tutor to the daughter of Park family during his absence. Park family is very wealthy and also neighbor to Kim’s. Kim family accept the job because they know it means so much money for them.
They decide to work for Park family with their services. However, they apply to different jobs at different times to prevent a clue about them from the same family.
The son, Ki-wuu starts the job as a tutor to the daughter of Park family and starts to begin a romance with her. The sister applies a tutor for the history of art to the little son of the Park family. The mother applies to the housekeeping job after Ki-jeong tells the mother of the Park House that the old housekeeper has tuberculosis. Finally, the father, Ki-taek applies the job as the chauffeur after the Park family fired the old one with the slander of Ki-jeong. Kim’s family enters the house of Park family with their lies and services at least. They learn a big secret in the house when the owners of the house go on a trip for a couple of days.
After Park family comes back home and decides to have a birthday party for their son with a lot of guests, something happens which is about the Park and Kim family and the secret they learn.
Class conflict, social inequality, and capitalism are the main themes of the movie.

En iyi film dışında ayrıca en iyi yönetmen (Bong Joon-Jo), en iyi yabancı dilde film, en iyi orijinal senaryo (Han Jin-won, Bong Joon-Ho), en iyi prodüksiyon tasarımı (Won-Woo Cho, Lee Ha-Jun) ve en iyi film düzenlemesi (Yang Jin mo) kategorilerinde de ödüle layık görüldü.

Filmimiz aslında kara komedi-gerilim türlerinde diyebiliriz ve ilk olarak Kim ailesini tanımamızla başlıyor. Baba Ki-taek, anne Chung-sook, ailenin kızı Ki-jeong ve oğul Ki-wuu aile fertleri. Kim ailesi yarı bodrum bir apartman dairesinde yaşıyor ve ekonomik durumları oldukça kötü. Çok zor zamanlar geçiren Kim ailesi üyeleri, çok düşük ücretlerle geçici işlerde çalışarak hayatlarını devam ettirmeye çalışıyorlar.
Kim ailesinin hayatı, oğulları Ki-wuu’nun üniversite öğrencisi olan bir arkadaşı Min Hyuk aileye gelir ve yurt dışına çıkacağı için kendisinin özel ders verdiği bir öğrenciye o dönene kadar Ki-Wuu’nun ders vermesini ister. Ders verilecek öğrenci ise Park ailesinin kızıdır ve Park’lar Kim ailesine komşu olan, oldukça varlıklı ve zengin bir ailedir. Bu da ailenin durumunu iyiden iyiye düzeltecek bir gelişmedir çünkü bu aileye özel ders vermek demek, çokça para demektir.
Kim ailesi Park ailesi için ilginç bir şekilde, tuhaf ve birbiriyle alakasız hizmetler için çalışmaya başlar. Aile, Kim ailesinin üyelerinin aynı aileden olduğunu anlamasın diye de farklı zamanlarda başvururlar.
İlk olarak evin oğlu, Ki-wuu, Park ailesinin kızı için özel ders öğretmeni olarak işe başlar ve ailenin kızı ile romantik bir ilişkiye girer. Kim ailesinin kızı ise Park ailesinin küçük oğluna sanat tarihi dersleri vermek üzere iş başvurusunda bulunur ve kabul edilir. Anne, Ki-jeong’un Park ailesinin annesine, evin eski temizlikçisinin tüberküloz olduğu iddiasıyla yalan söylemesi ve eski temizlikçinin kovulması üzerine, işe alınır. Son olarak baba Ki-taek de Ki-jeong’un iftirası üzerine işten atılan eski şoförün yerine işe alınır. Neticede Kim’ler bir şekilde Park ailesinin evine hizmetleri ile girmiş bulunurlar.
Park ailesi, bir seyahat için birkaç günlüğüne evden ayrıldıklarında ise Kim ailesi evdeki büyük bir sırra tanık olur.
Park ailesi eve geri döndüğünde oğulları için bir doğum günü partisi düzenlemeye karar verirler ve birçok konuk davet ederler. Parti sırasında, Park ailesi, Kim ailesi ve Kim’lerin öğrendiği sır ile ilgili olaylar gelişir.
